State Senator Judy Ward and Representative Perry Stambaugh have announced that more than $548,000 in state assistance has been approved for two projects in Juniata County. The funding comes from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) and will support important infrastructure improvements in the area.

The Port Royal Municipal Authority will receive over $226,000 for the Milford Street Utility Line rehabilitation project in Port Royal Borough. This project aims to ensure that residents have access to clean water by upgrading the utility lines in the area.

The Thompsontown Municipal Authority will receive over $322,000 for renovations to Well No. 2 at Haldeman Park in Thompsontown Borough. These renovations will help improve the quality of water and wastewater services in the community.

State Senator Judy Ward emphasized the importance of these projects, stating, "These water infrastructure projects ensure residents have clean water coming through their faucets and showers, and wastewater leaving their homes to be treated at a facility. The grants help local municipalities provide one of the essential functions of government for local residents."

Representative Perry Stambaugh echoed this sentiment, highlighting the long-term benefits of the infrastructure improvements. He said, "The upgrades being supported by this funding will help ensure quality water and wastewater services for communities across the 86th Legislative District. These infrastructure improvements will benefit not only current residents but also our children and grandchildren."

The funding provided by the CFA will play a crucial role in improving the overall water and wastewater infrastructure in Juniata County. These projects will not only benefit the current residents but also future generations, ensuring that clean water is readily available to all.
