Officials from Penn Township have been awarded a grant exceeding $135,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for infrastructure improvements, according to state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff and Sen. Cris Dush. The funding will be allocated for the construction of a new water tank.
"Congratulations to the township’s board of supervisors for applying for this funding, which is competitive in nature and requires five affirmative votes from the seven board members," Benninghoff stated. "Anyone who’s ever had to write a grant knows it isn’t an easy thing to do, and the only true reward comes from a successful application."
The CFA is responsible for administering Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages. These packages can be used for various infrastructure projects, including the construction, improvement, expansion, rehabilitation, or repair of water supply systems, sanitary sewer systems, and storm water systems.
Dush emphasized the importance of the grant, stating, "Access to clean water is critical to ensuring public health, public safety, and economic stability. This funding will cost-effectively meet the safe and reliable water supply needs for even more hard-working families and employers throughout Penn Township."
The initiative reflects the efforts of local representatives to enhance infrastructure within their jurisdictions, contributing to the economic potential of the area.
