In a recent announcement, a series of Multimodal Transportation Fund grants have been approved for Juniata County, aimed at improving infrastructure in the region. The grants, provided by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will focus on road safety and boosting connectivity, helping to foster economic development.
Ward expressed strong support for these initiatives, stating, “I am proud to support these investments that will improve the safety and reliability of our transportation networks.” He emphasized the significance of these projects for local infrastructure and their impact on the community.
Among the beneficiaries, Susquehanna Township secured $350,000 for a project centered on roadway paving and repairs on Old Trail Road, aimed at improving road safety and infrastructure. Stambaugh highlighted the importance of this project by stating, “This grant will assist Susquehanna Township in beginning the process of reconstructing Old Trail Road, which has become so damaged that serious safety issues have arisen.”
Fayette Township received $800,000 for a new connector road construction, enhancing safety and accessibility in transportation. Rowe noted the positive economic implications of this grant, saying, “Obtaining this grant for Fayette Township will benefit all area residents and businesses and spur future economic growth for Juniata County.”
These funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority support projects that aim to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system for Pennsylvania residents.
