State Senator Greg Rothman and Representative Perry Stambaugh have announced the approval of over $3.3 million in state funding for water and sewer projects across Perry County. This funding, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will finance several infrastructure projects aimed at improving local water and sewer systems.
The projects include more than $981,000 for Liverpool Municipal Authority to replace a water main, and nearly $496,979 to line and replace a sanitary sewer main in Liverpool Borough. Penn Township Municipal Authority will receive $540,000 for a waterline replacement, and Oliver Township Municipal Authority is allocated more than $122,000 for rehabilitating sanitary sewer collection systems near a railroad crossing.
Newport Borough Municipal Authority is set to receive over $423,000 to install new sanitary sewers along South Second Street. The Borough of Duncannon will benefit from more than $254,000 for a waterline replacement along Ann Street. Millerstown Borough is allocated nearly $426,000 for improvements to its sanitary sewer system.
“These projects are important for public health and quality of life," Senator Rothman emphasized. "I am happy to bring this assistance to Perry County, where it will be used to improve infrastructure and help ease the burden on local taxpayers.”
Representative Stambaugh added, "The upgrades being paid for with this funding will help ensure quality water and wastewater services for communities across the 86th State House District. These infrastructure improvements will provide benefits not only for residents today but also our children and grandchildren."
