The Pennsylvania House of Representatives has unanimously approved a bill aimed at promoting the electronic filing of campaign finance reports. The legislation, sponsored by Representative Perry Stambaugh, seeks to encourage candidates for office and political action committees to file these reports electronically.

House Bill 711 is designed to enhance transparency and accountability in the campaign finance process. "This is a commonsense measure to increase transparency and accountability," stated Stambaugh. He emphasized the benefits of e-filing, noting that it "streamlines operations, removes logjams during peak filing times, and ensures reports are posted in a timely manner."

Following its passage in the House, the bill will now move to the Senate for further consideration.
