Event Description:
After ten years, “It’s a Wonderful Christmas Carol,” an adult mash-up of It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol is coming out of retirement as part of WINTER RADIO THEATER 2022 – live at the Center Street Grille, 4 Center Street in Enola, PA! “It’s a Wonderful Christmas Carol,” first performed in 2004 and last performed in 2012, comically chronicles the haunting of old man Potter by the ghost of George Bailey. It will be performed as the front half of WINTER RADIO THEATER 2022 – Sunday, December 18th and Monday, December 19th, 7 p.m., upstairs at the Center Street Grille. The 2nd half of the show, aptly titled “Dead Rock Stars Singing Christmas Clasics … and more lame lampoonery!” will present a collection of assorted song spoofs and skits highlighted by “Poop Emoji Xmas,” “Fred Capon, Chicken Man,” and “Shark Tank 1776.” The troupe’s actors, who read directly from scripts like old-fashioned radio theater performers with “live” sound effects, are once again presenting both a Halloween and Christmas show this season. Admission for all performances is $5.00 at the door. All proceeds will benefit humanitarian relief aid for Ukraine. Non-perishable food donations will also be collected, with the following items especially needed: canned foods, dry cookies/crackers, powdered milk, Muesli/granola with fruit and nuts, nut and fruit bars, dried fruits & nuts, tea, dry protein mixes, and flour. Non-edible items needed include: detergent powder, candles, toilet paper, and blankets (including electric ones). The troupe: John Butler, Randy Gross, Abbie Iris, Kelly Iris, Todd Matthews, Troy Matthews, Julia Tilley, and Randy Whitaker. Caution: these shows contain some strong language and mature themes. Viewer discretion advised.
