State Representative Kerry Benninghoff is collaborating with the Pennsylvania State Police to provide a free service assisting residents with the replacement of unreadable license plates. According to Benninghoff, a license plate is considered illegible if its letters or numbers are unrecognizable from a distance of 50 feet or if it suffers from blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.
Benninghoff stated, “We’re hosting two opportunities to have those plates replaced.” The events are scheduled for September 26 at the Brown Township Building in Reedsville from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and October 12 at Centre Hall Elementary School from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Participants will be able to fill out forms MV-44 and MV-46, with assistance from Benninghoff’s staff, who will ensure the submission of forms to PennDOT.
“We really appreciate the Pennsylvania State Police, Brown Township and Penns Valley Area School District for helping us get this accomplished,” Benninghoff added. The initiative aims to offer a quick turnaround for those affected, avoiding the normal plate replacement fees by working directly with local law enforcement.
Residents with questions about this initiative or any legislative matters are encouraged to reach out to Benninghoff’s offices in Bellefonte or Reedsville.
