Rep. Perry Stambaugh announced on Mar. 31 that he will host a Disability and Special Care Expo for residents and caregivers to connect with local, state, and nonprofit resources. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Newport Family Life Center in Newport.
The expo aims to bring together vendors from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private providers who offer programs, services, and products for individuals living with disabilities or special care needs. Families and caregivers are also encouraged to attend.
“This expo is designed to bring important resources together in one convenient location so individuals and families can learn what support is available to them,” Stambaugh said. “Navigating services can sometimes feel overwhelming, and this event provides an opportunity to speak with experts and discover programs that can improve quality of life.”
Stambaugh has two adult sons and six grandchildren, according to the official website. He serves on several House committees including Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Energy (where he holds the Republican vice chairmanship), Finance, Transportation (where he chairs the Republican Subcommittee on Public Transportation), as reported by the official website.
He also promotes initiatives for rural communities such as enhanced Internet access according to the official website, advocates for constitutional reforms like term limits and district-based election of state appellate judges as well as eliminating property taxes for school funding according to the official website.
