Rep. Perry Stambaugh of Pennsylvania has conveyed his condolences following a tragic incident involving state troopers in Juniata County. One trooper was killed, and another was wounded during a confrontation with a suspect.

“Once again we see the dedication our law enforcement officers bring to the front lines to protect us from wrongdoers,” stated Stambaugh. “Because these troopers stood up, their families and everyone in law enforcement are now torn apart with grief. Please pray for healing for everyone affected.”

The incident occurred in Mifflintown Borough when a man engaged troopers around lunchtime, resulting in one trooper being seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The search for the suspect led officers to Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township, where an exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of both the suspect and a trooper.
