Rep. Perry Stambaugh announced that the Juniata County Historical Society and the Historical Society of Perry County have received funding from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program. Each organization was awarded $9,000, totaling $18,000 in grants.
“We are fortunate to live in an area with rich histories and to have organizations that showcase our heritage,” Stambaugh said. “This funding will help our dedicated local historical societies continue the great work they are doing.”
The Juniata County Historical Society plans to use its grant for property maintenance, covering electricity costs in its Archives Room, purchasing conservation supplies, and printing and mailing newsletters. The Historical Society of Perry County will use its funds to support administrative assistance for reorganizing, preserving, and cataloging archives at the Fetter House in Landisburg.
