Senator Greg Rothman has recently highlighted several community initiatives and local updates through his social media posts, focusing on both civic engagement and public safety.
On October 7, 2025, Rothman announced his involvement in a historic commemoration project, writing, “Excited to be part of the Liberty Tree Project with @America250_PA, part of a multi-year celebration of our nation’s 250th Anniversary. Recently, we planted & dedicated a #LibertyTree in @CumberlandCoPA, at Hampden Twp. Veterans Park.”
Later the same day, Rothman drew attention to health awareness efforts, stating, “Glad to take part in events this month aimed at increasing #BreastCancerAwareness & promoting education to increase early detection. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. But #earlydetection can save lives. Check out https://t.co/KmKKGVGycM”.
On October 8, 2025, Rothman issued a public notice regarding upcoming infrastructure work: “Reminder: Tree Removal Scheduled for 10/14 & 15 on Good Hope Rd in Hampden Twp, @CumberlandCoPA. Good Hope Rd will be closed between Creek View Rd & Shasta Way near the bridge spanning Conodoguinet Creek, 9am-2pm 10/14 & 15.”
The Liberty Tree Project is part of a broader national effort to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary, involving community tree plantings and historical commemorations in partnership with organizations such as America250PA. The initiative aims to engage local communities in reflecting on the nation’s history and fostering civic pride.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed annually in October across the United States. Health organizations and public officials often use this time to stress the importance of regular screenings and early detection, as one in eight women are estimated to develop breast cancer during their lifetime. Early intervention has been shown to significantly improve survival rates.
Senator Greg Rothman represents Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and regularly uses his platform to share information about local events, public health initiatives, and community alerts.
