License plate replacement event scheduled for Centre County
State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff — Pennsylvania

Residents of Centre County, Pennsylvania, have the opportunity to replace their illegible license plates at an upcoming event. State Representative Kerry Benninghoff is collaborating with the Pennsylvania State Police to facilitate this initiative.

“State law requires PennDOT to replace standard license plates that are deemed illegible at no cost to the vehicle owner,” stated Benninghoff. He encourages residents with worn and difficult-to-read plates to take advantage of this opportunity.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Centre Hall Elementary School in Centre Hall. A registration plate is considered illegible if one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet away or if there is blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.

Attendees should bring their vehicle with the affected plate attached, along with an unexpired PA driver’s license and current vehicle registration card.

For questions about this event or other legislative issues, contact Benninghoff’s Bellefonte district office at 814-355-1300 or his Reedsville office at 717-667-1175.
