State Representative Kerry Benninghoff and Senator Cris Dush announced the allocation of over $1.1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants for projects in their respective districts in Centre County, Pennsylvania. They emphasize the importance of these grants in supporting public safety and infrastructure improvements.
Benninghoff stated, “An important part of our jobs is to bring state funding back home, and these grants are an example of that.” The funding is specifically aimed at benefiting residents through safety and infrastructure projects.
Specific allocations include $140,815 for Miles Township to purchase a municipal work truck, $118,117 for Penn Township to buy a truck equipped with a snowplow and cinder spreader, $150,000 for Potter Township to replace the Lake Road Bridge over Sinking Creek, and $700,000 for the first phase of improvements to Spring Township’s community park.
Senator Dush commented, “With so many hard-working families struggling with ever-rising costs and inflation, I am pleased to have played a role in securing this highly competitive funding for the citizens I serve in Centre County.” He highlighted the significance of these grants in enhancing safety and quality of life without placing financial burdens on the local community.
These grants were sanctioned by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. This independent agency oversees the funding of programs contributing to Pennsylvania’s economic development. The LSA grants in question are funded by gaming revenues.
