FOIA Request to Perry County Election Department Regarding Voting Machines Pre-Election Test Report on October 30, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central PA News have sent a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law.
Our request is specifically for the pre-election test reports of voting machines used in the counties’ elections. We have asked for these reports in PDF format with specific fields including the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether it passed or failed.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
