Benninghoff examines state police funding through Motor License Fund

Republican Chairman Kerry Benninghoff, representing Centre and Mifflin, will lead the House Transportation Committee in hosting an informational meeting focused on the funding of the Pennsylvania State Police. The meeting will examine the use of the Motor License Fund, funded by the gas tax, as well as portions of vehicle registration and driver’s license fees, to supplement the police budget.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at noon at the 515 Irvis Office Building, State Capitol. Testifiers will include representatives from PennDOT, including Acting Secretary Mike Carroll, the Association of Pennsylvania Constructors, and the American Council of Engineering Companies.
