State Representative Kerry Benninghoff and Senator Cris Dush have announced the allocation of over $1.1 million in Local Share Account grants for various municipal projects within their districts in Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Benninghoff emphasized the importance of these funds, stating, “An important part of our jobs is to bring state funding back home, and these grants are an example of that.” He highlighted that the funding will support public safety and infrastructure improvements benefiting local residents.

The distribution of the grants includes $140,815 for Miles Township to acquire a municipal work truck, $118,117 for Penn Township to purchase a truck equipped with a snowplow and cinder spreader, $150,000 allocated to Potter Township for replacing Lake Road Bridge over Sinking Creek, and $700,000 designated for Spring Township’s community park improvements.

Senator Dush expressed satisfaction with securing this competitive funding amidst rising costs faced by families. He remarked, “With so many hard-working families struggling with ever-rising costs and inflation, I am pleased to have played a role in securing this highly competitive funding for the citizens I serve in Centre County.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved and awarded these grants. This independent agency manages programs supporting Pennsylvania’s economic growth. The LSA grants originate from gaming revenues.
